Happy New Year sewists!

I'm a self proclaimed notebook hoarder. I have a shelf of empty or half filled notebooks, all of which have a role or are "in progress". Some of them I've kept going for years, and occasionally I'll have an idea and fill in a page. Others I use almost every day.

I keep a bullet journal, which has been my most consistent practice, and I always advise others to try the famous "bullet journal method" out (you can take what works from it.) I've been using them for 10 years now. That means I have a quick reference guide to the last decade that does not revolve around the cloud or technology. The more tech takes over our lives, the more I crave those physical records and analog living.

That's why I really love this pattern for a journal/notebook cover. It's a way of protecting those notebooks that travel with you or last for years, or simply personalising a more boring notebook cover. It makes a lovely affordable gift, too.

You can customise this make with applique, embroidery or even paint pens or home-made prints - whatever moves you. If you're more experienced, you could add a document sleeve or pen holder, although those aren't in the pattern. Just an idea!

Enjoy!
