Free Easter Patterns: Reusable Easter Eggs and Bunny Bag
Share
We're back with more free patterns and video tutorials, perfect for this year's easter egg hunts! These eggs fit nicely in this custom bunny bag, complete with ears and tail.
These pretty eggs fit chocolates, can be reused year after year, and are a perfect scrap busting project. You could colour code the eggs so each child collects their own colour or decorate each egg with fabric markers.
The little bunny bag is designed to hold the eggs and we've uploaded a detailed sew-along tutorial that takes you step-by-step through some handy sewing skills, including embroidering designs onto a sewn piece, using appliqué, attaching tails (and any other accessories!), and fully lined bag-making skills. It's a really satisfying make!

Sewing instructions for the eggs
1. Place the two upper back pieces right sides together. Sew the straight edge with a 1cm seam allowance.
2. Open out the upper back piece and re-fold it so the right sides are facing out. Press with an iron.
3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 with the lower back pieces
4. Place the lining egg piece right side down. Place the main egg piece over this, right side up.
5. Place the upper back piece over the top of the main pieces, right side down. Place the lower back piece over the top, right side down.
6. Use the smaller egg template to trace a line onto your egg with a disappearing pen.
7. Sew directly onto this line.
8. Trim the seam allowance with pinking shears.
9. Turn the egg the right way out and give it a final press with an iron.
10. Fill with chocolate, and hide it for an egg hunt.
